Waste management is the "generation, prevention, characterisation, monitoring, treatment, handling, reuse and residual disposition of solid wastes". The term usually relates to materials produced by human activity, and the process is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or aesthetics.
Waste must be dispose correctly.
Waste in our society is normally put underground, or burnt. However is this the wright way of disposing waste.
According to the meaning of waste management the first part of waste management is generation, this means the production of waste. This is a crucial part of the process because here is where the rubbish is created. however theres already a lot of rubbish and no one knows what to do with it.
I have been collaborating with other artists who are interested in change and sustainability. We have decided to be part of an experiment in our school and it is about changing and cleaning a few things that are wrong.
We focused this time in a small area to start with. We believe in the concept of doing little by little it would be possible to achieve a big goal.
we are going to create a campaign called sand grain. So the fist thing we tryed was to clean the smokers area. The reason for this is to show people how an organised and clean area is more pleasant than a messy dirty one.
This experiment is going to be followed and the responses of the public will be recorded.
The comments we received from the public were positive. The next step is to develop this into a greater scale and maybe extend to other areas of the school and maybe the community.
